Tibetan Buddhist lineages · Tibet, Nepal, India & the US Vaishnava lineages · India
Our project with this lineage is to build "senior community housing" for senior monks within the community, many of whom are of the generation that migrated from Tibet during the conflict. The building, an apartment complex of 20 apartments on the monastic land of Tsering Jong, ensures the care by younger monks, meal provision, and community support already in established existence.
His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche is one of the foremost Buddhist masters and accomplished Tibetan Lamas alive in this world today. He is one of the highest Lamas of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and is revered and respected by all the different lineages of Buddhism, and beloved in numerous countries across various continents all over the world. His disciples number in the tens of thousands and his dharma activities pervade everywhere. He is truly a living example of an authentic enlightened being and a great Bodhisattva.
Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche has expressed that his unfulfilled wish is to establish a comprehensive online language school to preserve and transmit the linguistic heritage of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, securing it for generations to come. This platform will offer instruction in Sanskrit, Classical Tibetan, and Colloquial Tibetan, freely accessible to anyone in the world who wishes to learn. It is a gift of knowledge that transcends the geographical and financial barriers that have traditionally limited access to quality instruction in these sacred languages.
